Background

Trident Jet Skis is a Gold Coast based Jet Ski rental business focussing on delivering the best service and guided tours in the industry. Jensen Labs were contracted to build an in house custom product for rentals and tours. The team worked closely with the founder to meet the requirements which included self hire and drive, guided jet ski tours, deliveries, coupons and club memberships. Each feature is linked to maintain capacity and scheduling ensuring optimisation for the business operations.

Solution:

Rental Booking System: The product allows for users to browse the available jet skis for hire and book them accordingly. This is then automatically scheduled and can be viewed by the business owners for operations.
Club Memberships: The business wanted to offer memberships for active users and shares of the jet skis. This feature was implemented within the platform and allowed external user inquiries.
Guided Tours: Alongside rental bookings and system was made that allowed prospective tourists to book guided tours. These included tours along the Gold Coast and Brisbane river.
Availability and Scheduling: Once of the key enhancements of the system was automated scheduling. Since there are a limited amount of resources, the system would allocated jet skis to specific timeslots and allow for delivery times and conflicting bookings.
Payment Processing and Coupons: Concurrently, all bookings could be processed within the application and payment completed. This also allowed for the coupons which could be applied to a given payment product.

Result

Overall the project was a success and the platform is currently used to process all bookings, tours and memberships. The business owner was very glad to have the business transferred to an online platform and was able to increase time efficiency and jet ski allocations as a result of the scheduling features.
